Something really special is coming to Disneyland early next year! Disney has officially announced that they will formally begin the Disney 100 Years of Wonder anniversary celebration on January 27, 2023, with unique limited-time offerings running across the resort all year.
Cast members at the Disneyland Resort will have exclusive #DisneyCastLife chances at the beginning of the celebration, making them some of the first to enjoy the new offers.
Disney 100 Years of Wonder will be the largest celebration in The Walt Disney Company’s 100-year history, as was initially revealed at D23 Expo 2022 last month. Disneyland in Anaheim will serve as the focal point of the 100th anniversary celebrations at all of the Disney Parks throughout the world.
What will be new at Disneyland for the 100 Years of Wonder Celebration?
According to Disneyland.com, starting on January 27 next year, Disneyland will get all new decorations with platinum accents all over the resort, an assortment of sparkling new costumes for Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends, exclusive food and drink options, merchandising, and a whole lot more!
Even better yet – the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle will be elegantly decorated to celebrate the magic with sophisticated platinum banners and drapes, which will be highlighted by a spectacular display of the three “Good Fairies” who fill it with their glimmering pixie dust. On top of that, a lovely wishing star will gleam from the tower above, and two imposing water fountains will beautify each side of the moat.
I know it will truly be a sight to behold!
Disneyland California Adventure for 100 Years of Wonder
But that’s not all! Disneyland California Adventure Park will get a brand new World of Color celebration called “World of Color – One.” It gives new life to some of the most brave, caring, and inspirational personalities. “Start a Wave,” a brand-new original song, will also be premiered in this new spectacular.
“Wondrous Journeys” night time production at Disneyland
At Disneyland park, there will be projected onto the castle what Disney calls “Wondrous Journeys,” and I personally can’t wait. It will pay homage to every Walt Disney Animation Studios movie that has been released to date and take us on a trip that is rich in creativity, music, storytelling, and love. They announced that the Rivers of America, Sleeping Beauty Castle, the facade of “it’s a small world,” Main Street, U.S.A., and the park’s cutting-edge projection effects will all be transformed into works of art that bring characters to life all around you. To make it even more magical, fireworks will occasionally be added to “Wondrous Journeys” just to give it that extra Disney touch we’ve all come to know and love. On top of that, it will premiere a brand new song called, “It’s Wondrous.”
Mickey’s Toontown scheduled to return in 2023
Not only that, Disney has announced that the new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction will open early as they kick off the Disney 100 anniversary celebration on January 27! Mickey’s Toontown is scheduled to return to visitors in spring of 2023.
The “Magic Happens” parade will make its long-awaited return to Disneyland park in time for spring. “Magic Happens” honors the breathtakingly magical moments that lie at the core of so many Disney tales. This procession serves as a reminder that enchantment never ends at midnight, we don’t need wings to fly, and shooting stars were intended to be wished upon.
