The magic at Disneyland is alive and well given the return of the beloved Fantasmic live show! This is nighttime entertainment that you and your whole family won’t want to miss. You of course do not need to purchase any type of dining package to view the show but in my experience, it has saved me a lot of time to be able to continue enjoying my time at the park without stressing over camping out for a good spot hours in advance with one of the available Fantasmic Dining Packages!
The stage is on the Rivers of America where our beloved Mickey Mouse dreams that he is the sorcerer’s apprentice and things get a bit out of hand and he learns to trust in the power of his imagination to vanquish the villains and save the day! This show combines a variety of special effects, fireworks and live performances from characters from the films we love most!
The show lasts 27 minutes and has two performances for 9:00 pm and 10:30 pm. However, upon Disney’s discretion, showtimes may not occur daily and are subject to change. I highly recommend checking in the Disney Mobile app for dates and showtimes so that you may plan ahead. You must have a valid reservation to enter the park in order to view this show. Unfortunately, if the show becomes cancelled no refunds or exchanges will be issued.
At the time of this publication of this article, there are 3 dining packages available for you to choose from. You can select to have lunch or dinner and the cost will vary according to this and where you decide to dine.
The “on the go package” is available at the Hungry Bear Restaurant located in Critter Country. Here you will reserve a time slot to pick up your southern style flavored food which includes your main entree, side, fountain drink and dessert. Meal pick up times according to disney.com ranges from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm. You will be given a voucher that looks like an old school fast pass to enter the viewing area for the time of the Fantasmic show and from what I was told by cast members the viewing area will be on the side nearest the Haunted Mansion area. Pricing for adults and children ages 10 + at this location is $35 and for children ages 3 to 9 is $25 not including tax. Everyone in your party must select the dining package to be let into the viewing area for the Fantasmic show.
The next area for dining is the River Belle Terrace located in Frontierland. Here you will get a 3 course meal that includes premium seating which is right in front, dead center! You must request at time of dining for this package to your server. Prices for lunch and dinner for adults at this location is $50 and for children 3 to 9 is $30 not including tax or gratuity. As previously mentioned, after your meal, you will be given vouchers to enter your premium viewing area for the time you select to view the show. I highly recommend checking availability for making a dining reservation online on disney.com or through their mobile app and this can be done with 60 days in advance. If you are having trouble with doing this, I recommend joining the walk up list available on the mobile app. You must be within the radius of the restaurant in order to join the walk up list!
I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and service at River Belle Terrace and would recommend this choice from one of the Fantasmic Dining Packages! Below you will see what food options myself and another loved one decided upon for our 3 course meals.
What is new now, from when I had attended, was the reopening of the Blue Bayou Restaurant located in the New Orleans Square. Options for dining include lunch or dinner but note that currently there is no reservation system set up and availability is limited. So if you have your eye on this option be sure to speak with a cast member so they may guide you as to what may be your best chance at snagging a spot here.
Prices for dining at this location for lunch or dinner for adults and children ages 10 + is $89. For children ages 3 to 9, the price is $35. Another friendly reminder that tax and gratuity is not included, but this applied to all of the Fantasmic Dining Packages.
