Discover The Villas: Disneyland’s Newest Hotel Set to Open in September 2023 – What you need to know and how to book here

What do I need to know about booking a hotel that is on Disney property?

Disney recently announced that there will be an opening of a new hotel at Disneyland called “The Villas,” set to welcome its first guests in September 2023. According to Disney their goal with this fourth tower near the Disneyland Hotel will be closer to the Downtown Disney District putting it in direct competition with the Grand Californian Hotel. Another Disney property that is nearby is the Paradise Pier Hotel but at this time it is currently experiencing renovations because of its re-theming into the Pixar Place Hotel.

I personally love the classic Disney feel over at the Disneyland Hotel but I do enjoy the perk of staying at the Grand for how close it is to both parks. When deciding on which Disney hotel to book, I recommend you take into consideration the theme you are wanting to experience (e.g., whimsical/fantasy, modern, animated etc), closeness to the parks and of course your budget! I am curious to see how The Villas Hotel measures up in comparison to the other Disney Hotels I’ve stayed at. Of course when I book I will be sure to leave a review. But if you are wondering what hotels may suit your needs best while you are planning a Disney Vacation, check out this article here to compare them!

What will The Villas Hotel offer guests when booking?

Disney has released a statement saying that The Villas Hotel was constructed to be “timeless […with] Walt Disney Animation Studios classics with contemporary designs, delicately curating a celebration of Disney history in the place where it all started—the Disneyland Resort.”

The hotel’s designs were created in mind with the theme of “storytelling” according to Disney and that guest will be able to select rooms and suites with beloved characters like “Ball and Mowgli in a newly imagined duo studio” from the film The Jungle Book or reserving deluxe studios showcasing the stories of Sleeping Beauty and The Princess and The Frog. I am keeping my fingers crossed personally for a room themed with The Little Mermaid, but I guess we will find out soon enough.

According to Disney, with some of their larger rooms meant for booking for families, they can accommodate five to nine guests in a one and two bedroom villa. These villas will have the following amenities available for guests to use: washer, dryer, living area, full size kitchen (including cookware)!

The Villas will also have a “multilevel three-bedroom” available that can accommodate up to 12 guests! So this is a pretty big space which includes a “double-sided fireplace” as well as a “private outdoor balcony”.  Each tiered level has themes with the first floor being inspired by Bambi, and the second floor highlighting characters of Frozen and Moana.
