The long-awaited moment has arrived as Disney recently announced on its social media platforms that the beloved All-Day Access Park Hopper is making a triumphant return to Walt Disney World for guests with tickets and Annual Passholders, starting January 9, 2024. After months of anticipation, fans can once again experience the magic of park hopping at any time, just like in the good ol’ days.
On this magical date, Disney will be bringing back the flexibility and adventure that we all have been yearning for. In this article, I’ll dive into the details of this fantastic news and discuss what it means for Disney lovers planning a visit.

A Return to Tradition: All-Day Access Park Hopper
In the past, park hopping allowed guests to explore multiple Disney parks in a single day, creating unforgettable memories and maximizing their magical experience. For years, this tradition has been cherished by visitors, but some recent limitations have left many Disney fans wanting more. Disney had made changes to park hopping in Florida that would apply until 2 pm, and in California, at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, the restriction was set for 11 am.
While the All-Day Access Park Hopper will be coming back in Florida, Disney has not revealed any similar plans for California and park hopping in California still applies for 11 am. Fans of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure like myself, can only hope for a change in the future. Fingers crossed!
Theme Park Reservations and Admission Tickets
It’s important to note that there are exceptions. While theme park reservations won’t be needed for Annual Passholders and certain non-dated tickets, there might be specific days when reservations are required.
On those days that reservations are required, Passholders and ticket holders will need to visit their first selected park before enjoying the flexibility of park hopping. For instance, if a Passholder has a reservation at EPCOT, they can enjoy a few rides and then head to another park of their choice.
Disney also sells standard ticket options with specific dates attached, as you must choose a start date at the time of purchase through their website.
Good-to-Go Days at Disney
For Annual Passholders and Cast Members, Disney has introduced what they call “good-to-go days where no reservations are required. These days may vary by park, and certain pass block-out dates and capacity limitations will continue to apply.
Enhancements to the Disney Experience
In addition to the return of the All-Day Access Park Hopper, Disney has state that they have been working to enhance the experience for park-goers. Here are some of the recent improvements that are available now:
- Complimentary self-parking is back at Disney Resort hotel stays.
- Annual Passholders can now visit the parks after 2 pm without needing a theme park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom.
- Digital downloads of select PhotoPass attraction photos taken in the park on the day of the visit are now included in the purchase of Disney Genie+ service. So make sure to capture those magical moments on camera!
- Return of parking trams: Parking trams are once again available at all four Disney World theme parks. No more long walks from the parking lots!
