“And today, I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises: Toy Story, Frozen, and Zootopia. The popular film of Toy Story, first premiered in November 1995 which quickly became a staple of children’s entertainment for generations. The fourth installment of the film, Toy Story 4, was released in 2019 and received widespread critical acclaim. Now, fans of the franchise can look forward to a new “Toy Story” film but no details have been given on when or what the story will be about.
One of my personal favorite films Frozen was released in November 2013, quickly became a cultural phenomenon and the highest-grossing animated film of all time! I still have my AMC ticket stub from the day I watched it. This film’s success was due, in part, to its catchy soundtrack and empowering messages about sisterhood and self-discovery.
Frozen II was released in November of 2019 that captivated us with its heartwarming messages of love, courage, and determination. The themes explored in this film are timeless and universal, and definitely made a lasting impression on many viewers like myself. Disney is now working on a sequel and I hope that the story telling continues to propel these characters forward!
One of my other top favorite films is Zootopia is also getting a sequel! Zootopia was released in March 2016 that showcased the adventures of Judy Hopps, the first rabbit police officer in the city of Zootopia, as she worked to solve a missing persons case. A sequel to “Zootopia” will continue to explore the rich world and beloved characters introduced in the first film.
Bob Iger’s announcements have already generated a lot of excitement among fans of these beloved franchises including his recent announcement of Disneyland getting an Avatar Experience which you can read about here.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering these films for the first time, there’s no denying that Toy Story, Frozen, and Zootopia are incredible films. For more Disney news and updates like these subscribe to my magic newsletter!
