Festival of Holidays Sip and Savor Pass Must Haves 2022

For all my fellow Mouseketeer foodies out there, the Festival of Holidays started November 11, 2022 and I am sure many of you have already tried some of their tasty treats. However, those of you who might be on the fence on whether or not to hop on board, I am here to give you my two cents on what I believe is tasty and worth your time and money! The Festival of Holidays Sip and Savor Pass will cost you $59 without any magic key discount. So this would mean to get the most value out of your pass that you would want to select items that are $7 or more to make it worthwhile and for a magic key holder it would need to be over $6 on average.

I would be mindful to purchase more of the savory items with the Sip and Savor Pass as the average comes out to $8 or so for the items. Whereas in comparison to the sweets, the cost is lower, ranging about $5-6 in which case purchasing at an individual item may be better if you only want one or two dessert items during a visit.

Where can I purchase a Sip and Savor Pass and what are the benefits?

You can purchase your Sip and Savor Pass at the following locations listed below:

  • Sip and Savor Pass Kiosks
  • Kingswell Camera Shop on Buena Vista Street
  • Rushin’ River Outfitters near Grizzly River Run
  • Individual Festival Food Booths
  • Seaside Souvenirs near Ariel’s Undersea Adventure

One of the benefits of getting the Sip and Savor Pass is that you can purchase at any booth all of your desired food items and beverages and once you are ready you go, you can pick them up at each location! A cast member will ask for a tab or tabs (if ordering more than one item) at the time of redemption and will mark your receipt with the items you have been given. So whatever you do, don’t lose this receipt!

What you need to know about purchasing the Festival of Holidays Sip and Savor Pass

This pass will allow you to redeem eight food items with the tabs. Make sure you DO NOT TAKE OFF THE TABS until the cast member has informed you to do so; otherwise it will be void and you will be unable to get a refund or collect your food item(s) and/or beverage(s).

There is a mix of food and beverage options for you to exchange your tabs for, but be aware that it will only be applicable for select food and nonalcoholic beverages. Your pass expires on January 08, 2023. Remember that if you are a magic key holder, you are eligible to receive your discount on this!

The food items are snack portion sizes and not full entrees, but in my experience they are decently sized and if you use them all during your trip it could fill you up! I was pleasantly surprised this time around with this Sip and Savor Pass given that I used ALL eight tabs!

Below you will see all of the food items and drinks I tried out, where they were located, price points in case you would like to only do certain items, ingredients and what they are meant to represent in terms of the holiday celebrations.

Review of the Disneyland California Adventure Park Festival of Holidays Sip and Savor Menu Part 1 (Stay Tuned for Part 2 Coming Soon!)

What I appreciated from Disney was their breakdown on the inside of their Tasting Passport by listing in detail which items were Vegetarian, Plant Based, and Kid-Friendly! Additionally, Disney also listed which food items were representative/in celebration of  Christmas, Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Navidad which I find to be a special touch to recognize culture and community.

I ate Chicken Tikka Masala with Cardamom Basmati Rice, Lemon Raita, Cilantro and Garlic Naan Crumble in celebration of Diwali at My Favorite Things by Paradise Gardens Park in DCA and it was delicious! A bit spicy but I would rate it on the mild side. I would rate this item an 8 out of 10! If you plan to purchase this outside of the sip and savor pass it would cost $7.50 (not including taxes).

The Cherry Mango Punch beverage (nonalcoholic) in celebration of Christmas at the Winter Sliderland was pure magic! This was a 9 out of 10 for me. Its ingredients are Cherry syrup, Mango and Peach Nectars and Lemon Juice, garnished with a slice of Frozen Peach. The flavors blended extremely well and I did not feel it was overpowering with sweetness. This costed $6.50.

I had wanted to taste a variety of foods and beverages from the Paradise Garden Grill (given my Mexican roots) to see how it would hold up. I would say I was very happy with all of my choices with the exception of my dessert from this location.

Festival of Holidays Sip and Savor Mexican Food
Festival of Holidays Sip and Savor – Watermelon Candy Cocktail, Loaded Yucca Fries, Chicken Tinga Arepas, Mango Tres Leches

The Chicken Tinga Arepas in celebration of Navidad at Paradise Garden Grill was full of flavor with its refried beans, chicken Tinga, cabbage, avocado, and queso fresco. I would rate this also an 8 out of 10! The cost individually without the pass would be $7.99, not including taxes.

Next I had the Loaded Yucca Fries in the same location and it was spicy, but delicious! It made me do a happy dance if you saw my stories on Instagram! It has arbol chile cheese sauce, carne asada, guacamole, sour cream and pickled red onion. The only downside for me was that it was cold when I received it. But overall this one was a 9 out of 10! This cost without the pass would be $12.49.

For dessert at this location, I tried the Mango Tres Leches which I was the most excited for since I love mango and tres leches, but this whole heartedly let me down! Again, if you were watching my stories on Instagram, I made it super apparent that I was not happy with the taste as I could not hide my facial expression of disappointment.

This would be a 1 out of 10 because it was practically inedible in my opinion! It had too much of the parfait topping on my first scoop and it was too sweet. I tried another few spoonfuls while digging deeper to taste the cake and other flavors to give it a fair shot, but my opinion did not change.

This dessert is made up of a tres leches parfait with white cake and mango puree and had on top caramel chantilly, green and red whipped topping and sprinkles (which again made sense why I reacted the way I did upon having a spoonful of sugar!). This item would cost $6.49 without the pass.

For the beverage I simply could not resist trying out the Watermelon Candy Cocktail at this location! This FOR SURE was a 10 out of 10! Its ingredients included tequila, watermelon schnapps, pineapple juice, chamoy and chile lime rim and a watermelon candy. This item is not eligible with the Sip and Savor Pass but it is A MUST for sure! Its cost is $17. You won’t regret purchasing this! As a reminder, Disney reminds their guests that they must be 21 or older to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages.

Festival of Holidays Sip and Savor Layered Pumpkin Cheesecake
Festival of Holidays Sip and Savor Layered Pumpkin Cheesecake

The Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake in celebration of Christmas at Grandma’s Recipes was also a 8 out of 10! It has layers of New York-style Cheesecake, Pumpkin Gooey Cake and Graham Cracker, topped with Spiced Chantilly and a Chocolate Decoration. It tastes exactly how it sounds and this is a dessert I would recommend to have during the holiday season. Its cost is $7.00.

Of course I also had to get the Mickey Mouse-shaped Gingerbread Cookie in celebration of Christmas at Making Spirits Bright! The sheer size of this cookie alone is astounding and it is definitely worth getting! This for sure is a 10 out of 10 for me. I could not locate on Disney’s website or on the Tasting passport the ingredients for this food item to share.
