It’s crucial to remember that any information provided in this article about enjoying the Disney parks is intended as general guidance and for entertainment purposes only. Consult with a Medical Professional: Expectant mothers should always consult with a qualified medical professional before making any decisions regarding their activities, travel plans, or participation in theme park attractions. Which attractions in Disneyland are appropriate to ride during pregnancy?

1. “It’s a Small World”: This attraction is a classic boat ride that will take you on a journey around the world. You’ll escape into landscapes filled with color and dolls singing the ever popular (or unpopular) whimsical tune, of It’s a Small World— depending on who you ask!

2. The Enchanted Tiki Room: Another peaceful gem is “The Enchanted Tiki Room.” It’s an air-conditioned paradise where you can sit back and enjoy colorful birds and flowers burst out in song! This show runs throughout the day at the Disneyland Park and after the show is done you can pop around the corner to get yourself a refreshing Dole Whip in hand, perfect for a relaxing break and a sweet treat.

3. Jungle Cruise: If you’re craving an adventure and wanting a bit more speed than It’s a Small World go for the “Jungle Cruise.” This boat tour takes you on a humorous and smooth journey through the jungle. The witty skipper’s commentary will have you chuckling as you explore the exotic wildlife (of the animatronic kind) and lush scenery.

4. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: If you’re a fan of the Hundred Acre Wood and its cuddly inhabitants, this ride is a must. “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” is a gentle journey through Pooh’s whimsical world, making it a delightful choice for expecting mothers.

5. Pirates of the Caribbean: This is an attraction that I would leave up to your own discretion. This classic ride is relatively gentle as there are two mild drops at the beginning where the boat goes down two relatively steeper slopes, but after this you will coast and sail along with the pirates. However, I will say that I’ve noticed that the boats can bump into each other unexpectedly when you are preparing to exit.

6. The Disneyland Railroad: If you’re looking for a relaxing way to see the entire Disneyland Park, then you can hop aboard the “Disneyland Railroad.” This charming train ride circles the park, giving you a scenic tour while you sit comfortably and enjoy the view. Just know that the train makes various stops and depending on the crowd levels you may or may not get to board right away. This means you might be standing for a bit, so if you visit during a summer month be prepared to bring water and a fan to keep yourself hydrated and cool.

7. Haunted Mansion: This attraction is actually quite mild. The tour moves at an enjoyable pace through the mansion with playful ghostly apparitions. This attraction is one of my personal favorites! If you visit during the Halloween season you’ll get to enjoy its overlay and see it transform after Jack Skellington takes over the Mansion with his other Halloweentown residents including Sally, Zero and of course Oogie Boogie!

8. Mad Tea Party: If you’re feeling up for it, take a spin in the Mad Tea Party attraction. In this attraction you are able to control the spin speed, so you can make it as thrilling or as mild as you like. Just be mindful of your comfort level. Keep in mind, you don’t have to spin it fast (or at all) if you don’t want to.

8. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway: This is an adventurous attraction where you are taken on a train ride through a chaotic and whacky version of Toontown. For the most part, the ride is comfortable and smooth with exception of a few portions where your car may be swaying quickly to the left or right a few times like when you pass through a tornado section or when passing what I call the “Daisy Duck Dance” portion.

Which attractions in the Disneyland Park should expectant mothers avoid?

During pregnancy, the safety of both you and your baby is the top priority. While Disneyland offers a wide array of magical attractions, there are a few that should be avoided due to their potential of abrupt movements, drops, or other factors that may pose a risk to expectant mothers. Here is this list of Disneyland rides that you should consider steering clear of during pregnancy, along with descriptions of each and the reasons why they should be avoided:

1. Space Mountain: Space Mountain is a thrilling indoor roller coaster that takes riders on a high-speed journey through outer space. Expectant mothers should avoid this ride due to its sudden drops, sharp turns, and the potential for jarring movements that could impact the safety of the pregnancy.

2. Matterhorn Bobsleds: This iconic Disneyland attraction features bobsled-like vehicles that race down a mountainous track. The ride can be rough and bumpy, which could potentially jolt the rider. It’s best to skip this one during pregnancy. Many locals joke that this attraction is like going to visit the chiropractor!

3. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: While Big Thunder Mountain is a beloved Disney classic, it’s a fast-paced roller coaster with sudden twists, turns, and drops. These movements could be uncomfortable and potentially unsafe for expectant mothers, particularly in later stages of pregnancy.

4. Indiana Jones Adventure: This thrilling ride takes you on an expedition through ancient ruins, featuring sudden stops, sharp turns, and simulated dangers. Expectant mothers should avoid this to prevent any potential harm.

5. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (formerly Splash Mountain): Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, when it opens, will be a log flume ride that ends with a thrilling drop into a watery splashdown. The jarring impact upon hitting the water and the potential for getting wet are reasons for pregnant women should consider bypassing this attraction.

6. Star Tours – The Adventures Continue: This motion simulator attraction takes passengers on a journey through the Star Wars universe with sudden movements, spins, and turns. These actions could cause discomfort and are best avoided during pregnancy.

7. Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin: While this ride may appear gentle, it can be quite jerky as your car spins around scenes from the Roger Rabbit movie. Expectant mothers should opt for milder attractions to ensure a comfortable experience.

8. Rise of the Resistance: While a popular and thrilling ride full of stunning visual effects, Rise of the Resistance contains a drop as well as jerking motions that may not be suitable for expectant mothers.

9. Gadget’s Go Coaster: This mini roller coaster is designed for younger guests but still features sharp turns and drops that could be unsettling for expectant mothers. It’s best to choose gentler rides during pregnancy.

10. Astro Orbiter: This spinning attraction allows you to control the height of your rocket, but it can be dizzying and potentially uncomfortable for pregnant women. Opt for less intense attractions for a more enjoyable experience.

11. Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run: This thrilling and interactive Star Wars attraction provides opportunities for guests to control the direction of the Millennium Falcon, the weapons, and engineering parts as you fly through various obstacles. Though you may technically have control over the space craft, the attraction will still cause jerking motions unless you’re one of the two co-pilots flying with impeccable skill and navigation. More than likely, one of the pilots will be an ambitious child on their first Disneyland trip with little to no coordination who will cause the Millennium Falcon to crash into every surface available, causing discomfort.

In general, expectant mothers should prioritize safety and comfort when visiting the Disneyland Resort. There are plenty of other attractions, shows, and experiences that can be enjoyed without any risk to the pregnancy. Always consult with your healthcare provider before visiting any theme parks during pregnancy to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for both you and your baby.
