When will the new lounge for DVC members arrive at Disneyland in Anaheim?

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members, listen up! Disney has announced that you will have something new to look forward to on your next trip to Disneyland starting April 19, 2023 with an exclusive lounge created for relaxation and unwinding! Disney claims that you will get access to charging stations and more. According to Disney, this lounge is called the “Disney Vacation Club Star View Station” to fit the space theme. This lounge can be found in Tomorrowland at the Disneyland Park, located on the second floor of the Star Wars: Launch Bay building. 

What is Disney Vacation Club and what are the benefits of joining?

If you have never heard about the Disney Vacation Club (DVC), here is a quick summary rundown of what it is and what it entails. Members can enjoy a range of exclusive discounts, access to special events (e.g., not offered to the general public known as the Moonlight Magic over in Florida), getting points to book for Disney Hotels for upcoming vacations and more. 

Is it worth getting a membership for the Disney Vacation Club?

I feel that if you are often traveling and want to make it a point to exclusively stay on Disney Resort property for your vacations, then joining the Disney Vacation Club might be worth the investment. But I find that most guests (well at least the ones I’ve bumped into at the Disney Parks in Anaheim) have expressed little to no interest in becoming DVC members. 

I believe having lounges over in places like the Magic Kingdom in Florida makes sense given its size and the fact that these members are paying a pretty penny which does warrant a space for them to relax away from the hustle and bustle in those parks! However over here at the Disney Parks in Anaheim, I am not really sure this was the smartest move to open a lounge. I would have much preferred another attraction to take its place inside of Star Wars Launch Bay and was hopeful that it would have been for Avatar! I suppose we will have to wait and see whether DVC members love this new space and if it gets used as much as Disney hopes!
